Calculation Methods
Add: a/b + c/d = (ad + bc) / bd
Subtract: a/b − c/d = (ad − bc) / bd
Multiply: a/b × c/d = ac / bd
Divide: a/b ÷ c/d = ad / bc
The final fraction is reduced by dividing the numerator and denominator by their greatest common divisor (GCD).
Example
To add 2/3 and 3/4:
2/3 + 3/4 = (2 × 4 + 3 × 3) / 12
= 17/12
= 1 5/12

A denominator cannot be zero. Decimal versions of repeating fractions may be rounded for display.
