Before implementing a calculator, the Admin identifies an established, widely accepted, or otherwise appropriate calculation method for the calculator’s intended purpose.

Depending on the subject, this may involve:

• accepted conversion relationships;

• recognised scientific equations;

• financial formulas;

• statistical methodologies;

• established estimation methods;

• official reference values;

• published guidelines;

• recognised technical standards; or

• other reputable methodologies appropriate to the calculation.

Some calculations have more than one accepted formula or method.

When the choice of methodology could materially affect the result, AjaxCalculators aims to clearly identify which method is being used.

A calculator is not considered complete simply because its code runs successfully.

Each calculator is individually tested and reviewed by the Admin.

Depending on the type of calculator, testing may include:

• manually calculated examples;

• known results;

• published examples;

• normal input values;

• decimal values;

• zero values;

• negative values where applicable;

• very small or large values;

• different measurement units;

• unit conversions;

• incomplete inputs;

Testing procedures vary according to the calculator because different calculations require different forms of verification.
