Area Formulas

• Rectangle: A = length × width
• Square: A = side²
• Triangle: A = ½ × base × height
• Circle: A = π × radius²
• Trapezoid: A = ½ × (base 1 + base 2) × height
• Parallelogram: A = base × height
• Ellipse: A = π × semi-major axis × semi-minor axis

Example

For a rectangular room measuring 12 ft by 9 ft:

Area = 12 × 9

Area = 108 ft²

Area is measured in square units. Make sure all dimensions use compatible units before calculating. For irregular spaces, divide the area into simpler shapes and calculate each section separately.
