Calculation details
Use this LCM Calculator to find the least common multiple of two or more whole numbers. The LCM is the smallest positive number that is a multiple of every entered number.
Calculation Method
Using prime factorization, take every prime factor that appears in the numbers and use its highest required power.
Example
Find the LCM of 24 and 36.
24 = 2³ × 3
36 = 2² × 3²
Use the highest power of each prime:
LCM = 2³ × 3²
LCM = 8 × 9 = 72
Therefore, LCM(24, 36) = 72.
