Important Limitations
DOC and PowerPoint PPT/PPTX files are not supported by the current browser-only version.
Complex DOCX or spreadsheet formatting may not reproduce exactly because the files are rendered with browser libraries rather than Microsoft Office.
PDF-to-text extracts selectable text only. It does not perform OCR, so scanned or image-only PDFs may return little or no text.
Password-protected, damaged, very large, or highly complex documents may also fail to process. Always check the generated file before deleting the original.
Choose the Correct PDF Task
Use Convert to PDF when creating a page-oriented document from supported files. Use Export PDF to turn selected pages into JPG, PNG, or plain text. Use Organize PDF to merge documents, extract chosen pages, or split one PDF into separate files. Select the operation before adding files so the interface can show relevant controls.
Convert Documents and Spreadsheets Carefully
DOCX conversion works best for ordinary paragraphs, headings, lists, and straightforward images. Custom fonts, floating objects, tracked changes, advanced fields, or precise pagination may differ from Microsoft Word. Unsupported fonts can change line wrapping and page count.
Spreadsheet conversion depends on visible data and browser rendering. Review column widths, merged cells, row heights, dates, number formats, totals, charts, and page breaks. Wide sheets may be reduced or split. When exact print output matters, compare the result with a native spreadsheet PDF export.
Merge, Split, and Extract Pages
Merging combines pages from several PDFs. Put files in the intended order, then verify the first and last page of every section. Splitting creates separate files from one PDF. Extracting creates a smaller PDF from selected pages.
The tool’s page numbers refer to physical PDF order, which may differ from printed numbers inside a document. A cover can be physical page 1 even when the first visible number is “i” or “1.” Verify every selection before sharing or deleting originals.
Export Pages as Images or Text
PNG suits sharp lines, diagrams, and page graphics. JPG may be smaller for photo-heavy pages but can create artifacts around text. Higher export resolution improves legibility only up to the detail present in the source.
Plain-text export reads selectable text already stored in the PDF. A scanned page is an image and requires OCR, which this tool does not perform. Multi-column layouts, forms, and positioned fragments can also produce imperfect reading order.
Compatibility and Hidden Features
Password-protected, encrypted, damaged, very large, or structurally unusual files may fail. Interactive forms, digital signatures, attachments, JavaScript actions, annotations, layers, bookmarks, accessibility tags, and metadata may not survive every transformation. A visually correct page does not prove that hidden features were retained.

Privacy and Browser Limits
Supported operations run locally in your browser, and selected files are not intentionally uploaded to AjaxCalculators for server conversion. Confidential files still require a trusted device, secure storage, and careful handling of downloads.
A compressed PDF or DOCX can expand substantially while parsed or rendered. If processing slows down, close other tabs, work with fewer files, split a large job into sections, or use desktop software designed for very large documents.
Accessibility and Archiving
Visual conversion alone does not create an accessible tagged PDF. When accessibility matters, verify reading order, selectable text, document language, headings, link descriptions, and alternative text using a dedicated PDF checker. Keep the editable source beside the PDF because future revisions are usually easier in the original format.

- Confirm page count, order, orientation, and margins.
- Check headers, footers, links, images, and special characters.
- Compare spreadsheet totals and formulas.
- Identify scanned pages that need OCR.
- Keep originals and backups until approval.
Plan File Order and Names
Before merging or converting, rename files so their intended order is obvious and remove accidental duplicates. Use clear output names that identify the document, version, and date without exposing confidential details. If the PDF will be emailed or uploaded, confirm its file size fits the destination limit and that recipients can open it.
When several source types become one PDF, check transitions between them. A landscape spreadsheet may need different treatment from portrait text, and an image can be placed at an unexpected scale. Confirm blank pages are intentional and that no attachment appears twice.
Share the Result Safely
Inspect visible content for private information, comments, revision notes, hidden spreadsheet rows, or unwanted pages before sharing. Browser conversion may simplify metadata, but it should not be treated as a sanitization or redaction tool. Covering text visually is not secure redaction because underlying content can remain extractable.
For records, retain a checksum, controlled version history, or backup according to the organization’s requirements. If digital signatures, certified records, legal filing rules, or archival standards matter, use software and procedures approved for that purpose rather than assuming a general browser conversion preserves compliance, authenticity, accessibility, or every feature required by the receiving organization in that workflow.
